Business Ideas to Support National Projects

We have witnessed major successes and powerful transformations of certain projects, from being small ventures of modest value into large projects of enormous worth, some of which have even reached hundreds of millions of dirhams. Some might say it was merely a stroke of luck, but the reality is that luck undoubtedly plays a role, yet the measures that were followed, together with God's blessing upon them, are among the greatest causes behind the success of these small projects.

Three Categories

There is no doubt that project owners suffer on two fronts, and they fall into three categories: the first is skilled in his specialty, the second is skilled in management and coordination, and the third is one who has an idea or has merely heard of one and does not know which of the two paths is the more rightly guided. This in itself is a calamity.

The Dilemma of Support Services

One of the greatest challenges is the failure to provide an integrated environment for small enterprises. Instead of the project manager being preoccupied with hiring, procurement, licensing, accounting, auditing, information technology, and most importantly marketing and advertising, along with all this duplication that every project requires, if such complete support were established, the manager would only need to hire specialists in matters related to his project, while all the support services would be provided by the business incubator until the company stands on its own feet. This is the most successful method I have seen, and it is tried and tested. As for facilitating a loan for the project owner and drowning him in debt while requiring him to follow up, monitor, direct, and hire support services and at the same time advertise and promote without any support, and worse and harder still, to execute the plans, projects, goods, and core services of the project, all of this consumes effort, money, and time and often leads to the loss and ruin of the project, even if the idea were among the most successful and beneficial ideas for everyone.

The Duty of Institutional Support

When the conditions and regulations imposed on large merchants are applied to beginners, even to one opening his first project, as happens with some institutions and in some cities, the project faces threats from fees, rents, and electricity, which in some areas reach truly astronomical prices amounting to between 35 and 40% of the project's cost.

The Distinguished Support from Certain Bodies

There is undoubtedly very strong support from several bodies that provide the best methods of support and offer all the solutions for small projects, and what we aspire to is the integration of services with the other bodies that influence, in one way or another, the success of the project.

Repetitive Projects

Many merchants merely offer repetitive things, so you find dozens of shops selling fast food, others selling juices, and other such duplication, and we find that most of them deal with a single supplier, and this requires consideration. Perhaps these small merchants need guidance and the creation of a unified company that brings them together under a single name, so they set off to form the McDonald's of the Emirates in terms of concept, spread, and even global presence, instead of the current fragmentation, with everyone holding shares in the large company that will, God willing, form beneficial economic support.

Media Support

Many owners of small projects face a scarcity of media support due to the high cost of these advertisements. It would be wonderful if support were provided to these projects in the form of subsidized advertising packages, and let us also not forget the free services that some major media bodies provide in their distinguished programs, such as the program "12 Thamaniya" on the Sama Dubai channel.

Support from Service Providers

Many small shops need internet services and need support from the service provider, such that if packages were offered at better prices for the first year or two, it would undoubtedly ease the burden on shop owners and contribute indirectly to the project's success and expansion, which would undoubtedly bring even greater returns to the service provider in the future.

Hosting Within the Country

Most small and medium shops, if they have a website at all, host it on international servers. How I wish it were possible to provide the option of hosting all websites locally at prices comparable to international ones, especially since the numbers are large.
